Apart from the powertrain, no other changes have been made to the sedan that was launched in the country on February 28. Skoda continues to offer the sedan in three trims – Active, Ambition, and Style. The range-topping 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine puts out 150 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine makes the Slavia the most powerful mid-size sedan in India. The engine can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7- speed DSG automatic.

The Slavia is Skoda’s first made-in-India sedan and is based on the company’s heavily localised MQB A0 IN platform. Skoda claims that the sedan has a localisation level of up to 95%. In terms of size, the sedan measures 4,541mm in length, 1,752mm in width, stands 1,487mm tall, and has a class-leading 2,651mm long wheelbase.

The features on offer with the Slavia include a two-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, cruise control, MySkoda Connect technology, an 8- inch digital instrument cluster, 2 USB-C ports at the rear, ambient lighting, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, and an auto-dimming IRVM. On the safety front, the car gets up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, rear camera, Electronic Stability Control, an electronic differential system (EDS), a tyre pressure monitor, hill-hold control, multi-collision brake, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The Skoda Slavia puts up against the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
