Mahindra expands WE Hunnar program to empower women in the mobility sector

The Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar initiative is a skill development program aimed at empowering women in the mobility sector. It provides training in three-wheeler and four-wheeler driving, customer care, and electric vehicle (EV) repair and maintenance. In honor of International Women’s Day, MLMML celebrated participants who successfully completed the program and obtained their driving licenses.

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) has expanded its Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar initiative, a skill development program designed to train women in the mobility sector. Originally launched in July 2024 as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, the initiative offers training in three-wheeler and four-wheeler driving, customer care, and electric vehicle (EV) repair and maintenance.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, MLMML honoured participants who successfully completed the program and obtained their driving licenses. To date, the initiative has trained 245 women, including 52 in vehicle operation, 185 in customer care, and eight in EV repair and maintenance. Alongside hands-on training, the company has also assisted participants with licensing procedures and collaborated with financial institutions to provide loan opportunities for those seeking employment.

Initially launched as a pilot program in Bengaluru, the initiative is now set to expand to additional cities across India. MLMML partnered with Lok Bharti Education Society as its training partner to implement the program, reinforcing its commitment to workforce diversity and economic empowerment for women in the mobility sector.
