Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has launched the Tuono 457 Special Edition in India at a price of ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra), further strengthening its presence in the competitive mid-capacity performance motorcycle segment.

Introduced on the occasion of World Motorcycle Day, the Special Edition is based on Aprilia’s 457cc parallel-twin platform and brings a host of cosmetic enhancements and comfort-focused upgrades while retaining its proven mechanical package.

The motorcycle features new Mamba Black and Puma Grey colour options, complemented by refreshed graphics and a redesigned smoked aerodynamic flyscreen. Aprilia has also made several ergonomic improvements, including a higher handlebar position, a revised seat design, and an adjustable brake lever to enhance rider comfort during daily commutes and longer journeys.

Further improving ride quality, the Tuono 457 Special Edition receives suspension revisions aimed at delivering a softer initial stroke and improved damping across varying road conditions. The motorcycle also offers preload adjustability at both ends, while a new high-resilience seat is designed to minimise vibrations and improve long-distance comfort.

Commenting on the launch, Diego Graffi, Managing Director and Chairman of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., said the Special Edition has been developed to enhance rider comfort and everyday usability without compromising the performance-oriented character that defines the Aprilia brand. He added that the motorcycle is engineered to inspire confidence in both urban environments and highway riding conditions.

Powering the motorcycle is the existing 457cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 47.6 hp (35 kW) and 43.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an aluminium chassis and supported by a suite of modern features, including an electronic ride-by-wire throttle, multi-level traction control, a TFT digital instrument cluster with self-diagnostics and CAN-line data integration, and full LED lighting.

Aprilia says the latest update is aimed at riders looking for an engaging performance motorcycle that also delivers improved comfort and practicality in everyday use. The model enters a segment that continues to witness growing demand and increased competition in the Indian market.

The Tuono 457 Special Edition is backed by a 4-year or 48,000 km warranty, whichever comes earlier. Customers can also opt for a range of accessories, including a quick shifter, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), USB charging socket, fork sliders, anti-theft system, and other touring-oriented equipment. Pre-bookings for the motorcycle have commenced at select Aprilia dealerships across India.
