2024 Mahindra Thar ROXX with Monroe OE Solutions Dampers & Advanced Rebound Stop Tech

The new Ride Refine™ AHRS incorporates an advanced pressure tube and a proprietary high-strength sealing ring, ensuring a smooth and progressive transition to hydraulic rebound stop activation. Designed for versatility, this system enables OEMs to enhance ride comfort across all vehicles, particularly SUVs.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s 2024 Mahindra Thar ROXX is the first passenger vehicle to incorporate Monroe® OE Solutions passive dampers, equipped with Tenneco’s Monroe Ride Refine™ Advanced Hydraulic Rebound Stop (AHRS). This cutting-edge technology reduces suspension rebound topping energy and noise, enhancing performance in off-road and extreme driving conditions.

Launched in Kochi on August 15, 2024, the new Thar ROXX delivers a refined balance of sophistication, performance, presence, safety, and technology. Marketed as “‘THE’ SUV,” this five-door model offers full off-road capability while comfortably seating five passengers. Built on the All-New M_GLYDE Platform, it ensures a smooth ride with precise handling for superior on- and off-road dynamics.

To enhance ride comfort and control in all conditions, Mahindra & Mahindra equipped the Thar ROXX with Monroe OE Solutions double-tube dampers featuring next-generation Ride Refine™ AHRS. This advanced secondary valve works alongside the main damper valve to absorb peak loads from high-energy bumps and deep potholes, optimizing energy absorption for improved body control without compromising passenger comfort.

“Ride Refine AHRS technology delivers premium damping performance and an exceptionally broad tuning range,” said Hal Zimmermann, Vice President and General Manager, Monroe Ride Solutions. “Our growing portfolio of Ride Refine secondary valve systems opens the door to a vast new range of ride tuning and performance capabilities available through conventional passive dampers.”

The new Ride Refine AHRS features an innovative pressure tube and a proprietary high strength sealing ring that provide a smooth and progressive transition to hydraulic rebound stop activation. The system allows OEMs to deliver a comfortable ride in all vehicles, but especially in SUVs.

Each OE Solutions damper on the Thar ROXX also features the Monroe MTV CL piston valve, providing digressive damping characteristics for enhanced handling performance, and the Ride Refine RC1 valve, which applies frequency dependent damping to smooth out high-frequency wheel motions.
