New Nissan Magnite fuels growth, achieves record sales

Nissan recorded a 35% YoY increase in annual sales, fueled by the New Nissan Magnite’s strong domestic and export performance. The company achieved a historic 71,000+ export units under its One Car, One World plan, including RHD and LHD variants. Looking ahead, Nissan plans to launch an all-new 7-seater B-MPV in FY25 and a 5-seater C-SUV in FY26.

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) recorded its best single-year performance in FY 2024-25, despite industry challenges. The New Nissan Magnite, launched in October 2024, played a crucial role in this success, contributing to over 28,000 domestic unit sales. It remains a key pillar of Nissan’s domestic growth and global export strategy, even amid shifting consumer preferences toward alternate fuel vehicles in the B-SUV segment.

Nissan India expanded its export footprint from 20 to over 65 international markets, achieving a historic 71,000+ unit sales in FY 2024-25. This milestone reinforces India’s growing role as a key manufacturing and export hub for Nissan, bringing total consolidated sales to 99,000+ units.

Frank Torres, Divisional VP of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations, stated, “India remains a strong pillar of growth for Nissan, driven by the success of the Nissan Magnite, now exported to over 65 global markets, including LHD regions.”

Nissan remains committed to the Indian market, ensuring continued sales and service support for current and future models. As part of its product strategy, Nissan will proceed with plans to launch an all-new B-MPV and two new C-SUVs, while strengthening exports under its One Car, One World initiative.

Frank Torres, Divisional VP of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations, emphasized that the restructuring aims to make Nissan a leaner, more agile company globally. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed by H1 2025.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India said, “This year has been a challenging one for the auto industry. Despite this, the New Magnite has shown and has proven that it remains a strong favorite amongst the B-SUV customers. The continued expansion of our dealership network reflects our commitment to improving accessibility and customer service. As we move forward, with the recent announcement of the additions of an All-New 7-seater B-MPV and 5-seater C-SUV and we are focused on offering an exciting product portfolio and expanding our dealer network further for enhancing customer experience.”

Nissan Motor India also announced that it will increase the price of New Nissan Magnite across all trims by up to 3 per cent from 1st April 2025 onwards. This price hike will be done to offset the rising input costs and operational expenses.
