Mahindra Tractors appoints Ujjwal Mukherjee as new marketing head

Before joining Mahindra & Mahindra, Mukherjee worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, handling client engagements across the pharma, power, and automobile sectors.

Ujjwal Mukherjee, formerly leading marketing services at Mahindra Farm Division, has been named the new Marketing Head at Mahindra Tractors. He announced his appointment on LinkedIn on Saturday.

In his previous role, Mukherjee oversaw key areas such as above-the-line communication, digital marketing, CRM, and call center operations at Mahindra Tractors. He served as Deputy General Manager, Group Strategy, from September 2019 to August 2023, where he played a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives.

Mukherjee led the Mahindra Accelerated Leadership Track (MALT), a leadership development program designed in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, USA, aimed at nurturing future leaders. His contributions also included leading critical projects across business verticals like electric vehicles, capital allocation strategies, and portfolio management.

In March 2024, a team under Mukherjee’s guidance won the IAMAI India Digital Awards for Mahindra OJA’s ‘Best Use of Meta’ campaign.

Before joining Mahindra & Mahindra, Mukherjee worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, handling client engagements across the pharma, power, and automobile sectors. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, a postgraduate diploma from the Indian School of Business, and executive education credentials from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mahindra & Mahindra currently holds the largest market share of 44% in the farm division sector. In October 2024, its Farm Equipment Sector recorded its highest-ever tractor sales, delivering 64,326 units—a 30% year-on-year growth. The company forecasts a 6-6.8% expansion in the tractor industry for FY25, with a 13-15% sales boost anticipated in the second half.

The company’s growth is fueled by strong demand for advanced farming solutions and the success of premium tractor lines, including the Mahindra OJA series.
