The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released its February 2025 data, revealing mixed performances across various automotive segments in domestic and export markets. As per the report, total production of passenger vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and quadricycles reached 23,46,258 units in February 2025.
Commenting on the February 2025 performance, Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, stated, “The Passenger Vehicles segment remained resilient, recording its highest-ever February sales at 3.78 lakh units, reflecting a 1.9% growth over February 2024. With the upcoming festivities of Holi and Ugadi in March, demand is expected to remain strong, helping FY 2024-25 conclude on a positive note.
Passenger Vehicles: Dispatches to dealers grew 1.9% year-on-year in February 2025, reaching 3.78 lakh units compared to 3.71 lakh units in the same month last year. This reflects a strong sales performance in line with the segment’s overall upward trend.
Three-Wheelers: The segment registered a steady 4.7% year-on-year growth, with sales rising to 57,788 units in February 2025 from 55,175 units in February 2024. Demand remains robust in both domestic and export markets.
Two-Wheelers: Domestic sales declined by 9% in February 2025, falling to 13.85 lakh units from 15.21 lakh units a year ago. While the downturn was anticipated, the upcoming festive season is expected to drive a recovery in the coming months.
