At Auto Shanghai 2025, Marelli—a global automotive technology partner—unveiled its platform-based approach designed to streamline hardware development and accelerate time-to-market. The company introduced new products developed under this strategy, including the LeanEnergy battery management system, the LeanSuspension solution, and a new application of its ProDisplay technology. These innovations were featured in the “Acceleration Lane” area of Marelli’s booth at the Shanghai NECC, Hall 1.2H, Stand 1BF009.
Marelli’s platform-based strategy uses up to 70% pre-developed technology, allowing automakers to customize features while accelerating innovation and development. The company offers three platforms—Lean, Pro, and Elite—tailored to different market needs:
- Lean: Minimal, sustainable, cost-effective, and performance-focused solutions for entry-level and eco-friendly vehicles.
- Pro: Scalable, high-quality technologies for a wide range of EVs and vehicle types.
- Elite: Premium, cutting-edge innovations for luxury segments.
At Auto Shanghai 2025, Marelli spotlighted its Lean platform with the debut of two new technologies in the propulsion and chassis domains.
At Auto Shanghai 2025, Marelli introduced three key innovations:
- LeanEnergy Battery Management System: A centralized BMS supporting up to 108 cells, ideal for MHEVs, PHEVs, and small BEVs. It integrates high and low voltage circuits on a single board with an isolation barrier for safety, combining cost-efficiency with proven expertise since 2010.
- LeanSuspension: An evolution of Marelli’s Smart Damping Control, this semi-active suspension uses a single electronic valve to match dual-valve performance. It offers faster response times, lower weight, reduced complexity, and cost savings.
- ProDisplay Hidden Integration: A new application of ProDisplay technology places a hidden screen behind a door panel, visible only when activated. It blends advanced functionality with sleek interior design, enhancing user experience and cabin aesthetics.
At Auto Shanghai 2025, Marelli also showcased its Large Size ProDisplay, featuring expansive infotainment and passenger screens designed for high clarity, interactivity, and immersive in-car entertainment.
Marelli’s booth at Auto Shanghai 2025 was structured around the theme “Fast Forward. Forward Fast.”, featuring four distinct zones: the ‘Momentum Lab’ spotlighting Minimum Viable Products, the ‘Velocity Zone’ showcasing tools for Software-Defined Vehicle enablement, the ‘Acceleration Lane’ emphasizing the tiered hardware development strategy, and the ‘Instant Impact’ area presenting ready-to-deploy technologies.
