Schaeffler earns EcoVadis Platinum Rating for Sustainability Performance

Schaeffler has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum Medal after improving its sustainability score to 87 out of 100, placing the motion technology company among the top 1% of more than 150,000 companies assessed globally. The recognition reflects strong progress across environmental, social, governance and sustainable procurement practices.

Motion technology company Schaeffler has been awarded the Platinum Medal by global sustainability rating agency EcoVadis, recognising the company’s continued progress in environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and sustainable business practices.

The annual EcoVadis assessment evaluates companies across four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. In the 2026 assessment, Schaeffler improved its overall score to 87 out of 100, up from 81 points and a Gold rating in the previous year.

The improved score has elevated Schaeffler to the Platinum category, placing the company among the top 1% of more than 150,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide.

The recognition reflects Schaeffler’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability across its entire value chain and reinforces the company’s commitment to responsible business practices, ethical governance and long-term environmental stewardship.

Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, said: “The EcoVadis platinum rating substantiates our progress in embedding sustainability consistently across our value chain. It is a meaningful recognition of our ongoing commitment and the combined achievements of many teams throughout the company. This success strengthens our resolve to continue on this path.”

Dr. Anja Rivera de la Cruz, Head of Strategic Sustainability at Schaeffler, commented: “This platinum rating confirms that our commitment to sustainability is having an impact across all key areas. It sends out a strong message about the progress we have made together, reinforces Schaeffler’s credibility with customers, partners and further stakeholders, and demonstrates the strategic embedding of sustainability in the company.”

Improvement across all relevant rating criteria

In this current rating, Schaeffler improved its score in all relevant areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The key drivers of this improvement included stronger environmental performance and transparency – supported by enhanced climate and Scope 3 reporting and broader evidence of environmental initiatives – as well as documented measures in labor and human rights, including employee-related programs, health and safety, working conditions, and diversity. An improved governance, ethics and compliance management system, together with progress in implementing sustainable procurement practices, also contributed to the higher rating.

Schaeffler views sustainability as a holistic, company-wide priority, and assumes ecological and social responsibility across its entire value chain. In strict alignment with the three ESG dimensions – environment, social and governance – the company continues to develop and refine its sustainability strategy.
