Streamlined Electrification: ZF’s CeTrax 2 e-Drive for Buses

At Mobility Move 2025, ZF will debut its newly developed CeTrax 2 electric central drive in a German premiere. This next-generation drive offers significant improvements over its predecessor, integrating advanced components such as an electric motor, SiC inverter, and a 3-speed gearbox. As part of ZF’s modular electric drive system, CeTrax 2 delivers enhanced performance with lower energy consumption.

With a continuous output of 210 kW and a peak torque of 8,700 Nm, CeTrax 2 is designed for buses weighing up to 19 tons. Despite its increased power, the installation space remains comparable to the previous model, ensuring compatibility with ZF axles. On the software front, it benefits from ZF’s extensive expertise in cutting-edge technologies, including advanced cybersecurity functions.
