In a major boost to India’s electric mobility vision, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has officially invited Tesla Inc., the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, to establish a manufacturing plant in Haryana. The initiative underscores Haryana’s commitment to becoming a national hub for EV manufacturing and clean energy innovation.
Tesla’s Entry Could Accelerate India’s EV Transition
During a high-level meeting, CM Saini presented a copy of the Haryana Electric Vehicle Policy to Tesla’s representatives, highlighting the state’s robust industrial ecosystem, strategic location, and investor-friendly infrastructure. According to a PTI report, the Chief Minister assured comprehensive government support to facilitate Tesla’s operations in the region.
Saini noted that setting up a Tesla EV manufacturing facility in Haryana would not only strengthen the company’s footprint in India but also help make electric vehicles more accessible and affordable for Indian consumers.
“Haryana has become an ideal destination for investment and innovation. Our EV policy offers world-class facilities, strong infrastructure, and a conducive business environment for global companies,” said CM Nayab Singh Saini.
Haryana: A Strategic Hub for Electric Vehicle Production
Located near the National Capital Region (NCR), Haryana offers exceptional logistics advantages, industrial clusters, and skilled workforce availability. The state’s Electric Vehicle Policy provides lucrative incentives for manufacturers, including tax benefits, land allotments, and infrastructure support — making it one of India’s most competitive destinations for EV investment.
With major auto players already present in the state, Haryana aims to strengthen its position as a leader in electric mobility and battery innovation. The entry of Tesla could further enhance the state’s global competitiveness and attract an ecosystem of suppliers and startups focused on sustainable technologies.
Tesla to Open India’s First Integrated Center in Gurugram
In a significant development, Isabelle Fan, Senior Director at Tesla, invited CM Saini to be the Chief Guest at the inauguration of India’s first integrated Tesla Center, scheduled for November 27 in Gurugram.
This upcoming facility will serve as a one-stop destination for Tesla in India, featuring an experience center, delivery and service units, corporate offices, and a supercharging station, all under one roof. The move reflects Tesla’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the Indian EV market and supporting the country’s clean mobility goals.
A Step Forward in India’s Green Mobility Mission
The Haryana government’s proactive engagement with Tesla aligns perfectly with India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, promoting local manufacturing, green technology adoption, and sustainable growth.
If Tesla establishes its manufacturing plant in Haryana, the collaboration could generate thousands of jobs, boost local supply chains, and accelerate India’s transition to electric mobility — positioning Haryana at the forefront of the country’s EV revolution.
