Nawgati enters Sri Lanka, Accelerating its Global Fuel-Tech Expansion Strategy

Nawgati has entered the Sri Lankan market as part of its global fuel-tech expansion strategy. Leveraging similarities with India’s fuel ecosystem, the company aims to accelerate digital transformation across Sri Lanka’s fuel retail network.

Nawgati, a leading fuel-tech solutions provider with operations across India and the UAE, has announced its strategic expansion into Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone in its global growth roadmap.

Sri Lanka has emerged as a strong opportunity market for Nawgati due to its structural and operational alignment with India—ranging from the presence of major Indian fuel retailers to similar regulatory frameworks and a comparable demographic environment. These synergies position Nawgati to scale rapidly and seamlessly, enabling efficient digitisation of fuel retail operations across the region.

The company will establish its Sri Lanka headquarters at the World Trade Centre in Colombo. Phase one of the rollout will begin in Colombo, followed by expansion into additional high-density urban regions. Nawgati will introduce its flagship platforms to support both operators and consumers:

Aaveg — a congestion and compliance intelligence platform for fuel station operators and oil marketing companies.

Nawgati Fueling App — a consumer-focused app offering real-time fuel availability, wait-time visibility, and a more predictable fueling experience.

Commenting on the expansion, Vaibhav Kaushik, CEO & Co-founder of Nawgati, said, “Sri Lanka fits seamlessly into our growth strategy, not just geographically but operationally. The market readiness, regulatory alignment, and presence of established Indian operators create a strong foundation for scale. Our goal is to reduce uncertainty, improve efficiency, and enable smarter, connected fueling ecosystems for both operators and consumers. This is a long-term investment and a milestone in our global roadmap.”

Nawgati is in early discussions with private-sector fuel operators in Sri Lanka and is also exploring collaborations with government stakeholders to enable nationwide adoption of compliance and monitoring infrastructure. Over the next 2–5 years, the company aims to drive wide-scale deployment of its solutions, enabling better operational efficiency and enhanced transparency for fuel station networks across the country.
