Sterling Tools partners with MINIEYE to bring ADAS Solutions to the Indian market

Sterling Tools has partnered with MINIEYE to introduce ADAS and driver monitoring systems tailored for Indian driving conditions. The collaboration supports OEMs in meeting India’s upcoming 2027 safety regulations.

Sterling Tools Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with MINIEYE, a Hong Kong–listed intelligent driving solutions provider, to introduce Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) tailored specifically for the Indian automotive market.

The collaboration will focus on adapting MINIEYE’s safety technologies to India’s unique driving conditions, including mixed traffic environments, diverse road scenarios, and varied driving behaviours. Sterling Tools will lead perception tuning and on-ground industry engagement to ensure the systems are optimised for local operating conditions.

Covering both passenger and commercial vehicle segments, the partnership also aligns with India’s upcoming regulatory requirements. From January 1, 2027, all new vehicle models in India will be mandated to feature ADAS and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems (DDAWS).

The scope of systems under the collaboration includes Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning Systems (LDWS), DDAWS, Blind Spot Monitoring, and other advanced safety functions.

Commenting on the development, Anish Agarwal, Director at Sterling Tools Limited, highlighted the increasing importance of road safety and regulatory compliance across vehicle categories. He noted that the partnership aims to support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with safety-critical technologies that meet evolving regulatory standards.

MINIEYE brings extensive global experience to the partnership, with solutions compliant with the EU General Safety Regulation and certified to Automotive SPICE V4.0 CL3 standards. Its technologies are already deployed across markets including Europe, the UK, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America.

Dr. Liu Guoqing, Founder and Chairman of MINIEYE, described the collaboration as a significant step toward enabling intelligent driving technologies in India, leveraging Sterling Tools’ strong local expertise to deliver production-ready applications.

Founded in 1979, Sterling Tools Limited is a leading manufacturer of automotive fasteners and has been steadily expanding into next-generation automotive technologies. MINIEYE, established in 2014 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under stock code 2431.HK, specialises in intelligent driving and in-cabin solutions, primarily serving the Chinese and global markets.

The partnership underscores the Indian automotive industry’s shift toward enhanced safety standards, as OEMs increasingly seek ADAS solutions engineered for local traffic complexity while ensuring global regulatory compliance.
