Triumph Motorcycles has crossed the milestone of 1 lakh motorcycles on Indian roads, according to an announcement made by Bajaj Auto on Monday. The achievement highlights the brand’s rapid growth in India following its entry into the market in Q2 2023 through a manufacturing and distribution partnership with Bajaj Auto.
Since the partnership began, Triumph has significantly expanded its presence across the country. The brand now operates a retail network of over 230 stores in more than 200 towns, leveraging Bajaj Auto’s domestic research, manufacturing, and distribution capabilities alongside Triumph’s global engineering expertise.
A key contributor to this growth has been the Triumph 400 series, which is manufactured in India. The motorcycles are not only sold domestically but are also exported to 18 international markets, including Japan, Australia, Mexico, Taiwan, and South Korea. The range has helped the company establish a strong position in India’s mid-capacity motorcycle segment.
Commenting on the milestone, Manik Nangia, President of Probiking at Bajaj Auto, said reaching 1 lakh Triumph motorcycles on Indian roads within just two and a half years represents an important achievement for the brand in the country.
In addition to sales growth, Triumph has focused on building an active riding community in India. The company regularly hosts and supports events such as World of Triumph, Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, Triumph Tiger Trails, Scrambler Rides, and Bike Nights, aimed at bringing together enthusiasts and strengthening the brand’s community engagement.
Founded in 1902, Triumph Motorcycles is the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the United Kingdom. The company also holds a Guinness World Records entry for the greatest distance travelled on a motorcycle in 24 hours, achieved in 2023. In addition, Triumph serves as the exclusive engine supplier for the Moto2 World Championship.
