Norton launches Atlas and Atlas GT Adventure-Tourers with advanced rider aids

Norton Motorcycles has revealed the new Atlas and Atlas GT, two middleweight adventure-tourers powered by a 585cc parallel-twin engine. Equipped with advanced rider assistance systems, fully adjustable suspension, and connected technology, the new motorcycles are designed to deliver a blend of adventure capability and touring comfort.

Norton Motorcycles has unveiled the new Atlas and Atlas GT, two middleweight adventure-tourers built on a common platform and designed to blend performance, technology, and touring capability. Both motorcycles are powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring a 270-degree crankshaft, delivering 69 bhp at 9,300 rpm and 57 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine serves as a stressed member within a steel trellis frame, contributing to the motorcycles’ lightweight and agile character.

Commenting on the launch, Richard Arnold, CEO of Norton Motorcycles, said, “The Atlas name is emblematic of an era when motorcycling was synonymous with adventure. We are proudly carrying forward that rich Norton legacy with our all-new line-up of modern yet quintessentially British adventure motorcycles.”

The Atlas range is equipped with fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends, complemented by hydraulic rear preload adjustment for enhanced comfort and handling. Braking duties are handled by dual 310 mm semi-floating front discs paired with radial Bybre calipers, along with a 270 mm rear disc for confident stopping power.

Advanced rider assistance technologies are enabled by a Bosch 10.3-series six-axis IMU, offering features such as lean-sensitive ABS, cornering traction control, cornering cruise control, rear lift control, and rear slide control. Apex variants further enhance safety and convenience with vehicle hold control and electronic combined braking. Riders can also choose from five ride modes, while wheelie control and slide control come as standard across the range.

A feature-rich 8-inch TFT display provides integrated navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, ride telematics, GoPro control, and over-the-air software updates through the Norton Rider app. The standard Atlas is equipped with a 19-inch front wheel for greater off-road capability, while the Atlas GT adopts a 17-inch front wheel aimed at road-focused touring performance.

The Atlas has a wet weight of approximately 188 kg, with higher-spec variants weighing up to 192 kg. Norton is backing both motorcycles with a comprehensive 36-month warranty package, including Norton Roadside Assist.
