Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has launched Uptime NXT Services, an integrated service ecosystem combining artificial intelligence (AI), connected vehicle data and digital tools to improve fleet productivity and commercial vehicle uptime.
The offering is built around an AI-enabled Uptime Centre that connects customers, technicians, engineers and technical experts to coordinate service interventions and address vehicle-related issues. Its capabilities include fuel advisory, driver scorecards, vehicle-operation insights, vehicle immobiliser support and proactive interventions aimed at improving fuel efficiency and reducing operating costs.
The launch builds on Eicher’s centralised Uptime Centre, introduced in 2019. Since then, the company has expanded its capabilities across vehicle health monitoring, diagnostics, service operations, parts availability and product performance.
As part of the new ecosystem, Eicher is introducing an Uptime Control Tower to monitor service delivery and provide greater visibility into vehicle and service operations. The company is also rolling out Service One, a generative AI-powered platform designed to assist mechanics and technicians with diagnostics and support workshop operations.
According to VECV, these digital capabilities are intended to improve coordination between service teams, accelerate fault diagnosis and increase the likelihood of first-time-right repairs. By helping reduce repeat interventions, the tools are expected to minimise vehicle downtime and improve service efficiency.
B Srinivas, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, said the initiative reflects the company’s focus on taking a more proactive approach to vehicle uptime by combining connected technologies, predictive insights, service network responsiveness and aftermarket support.
Eicher’s My Eicher app is another key component of the Uptime NXT ecosystem. The connected customer platform brings together features such as live vehicle tracking, fuel management, trip management, fleet performance monitoring, predictive uptime, driver safety and service support.
According to the company, the platform serves more than 200,000 customers and connects over 460,000 vehicles, providing fleet operators with digital tools to monitor vehicle performance and manage operations.
S S Gill, Chief Commercial Officer at VECV, said the Uptime Control Tower gives service teams greater visibility into vehicle operations, while the generative AI-powered platform brings actionable information closer to technicians. The company expects these capabilities to support faster diagnosis, better service coordination and improved first-time-right repair performance.
VECV is a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. Its businesses span Eicher-branded trucks and buses, Volvo Buses in India, the distribution of Volvo Trucks in India, engine manufacturing, engineering components and Eicher Power Solutions.
