Michelin has strengthened its retail presence in Uttar Pradesh with the inauguration of a new Michelin Tyres & Services (MTS) outlet in Kanpur. Opened in partnership with long-time retail associate HJ Wheels, the new facility in Harsh Nagar is designed to provide customers in Kanpur and nearby regions with easier access to Michelin’s premium tyre portfolio and after-sales services.
The MTS store offers Michelin’s complete range of tyres for passenger cars, SUVs, and two-wheelers, including the Primacy, Pilot Sport, Latitude Sport, and LTX Trail series. In addition to tyres, customers can access a variety of tyre care services and automotive accessories under one roof.
Speaking on the occasion, Shantanu Deshpande, Managing Director, Michelin India, said Kanpur is a key market in the company’s North India expansion strategy due to its growing automotive customer base and rising demand for premium mobility products. He also revealed that Michelin is preparing to launch passenger car tyres manufactured in India, reinforcing its commitment to serving the domestic market.
Michelin noted that Kanpur, one of India’s oldest industrial centres, is witnessing rapid transformation through improved infrastructure, new expressways, the growth of electric and advanced manufacturing industries, and increasing demand for premium vehicles. The company added that HJ Wheels, a well-established name in Kanpur’s automotive aftermarket since 1989, has been a trusted Michelin partner for many years.
