Revfin launches ‘Jagriti Yatra Abhiyaan’ in Uttar Pradesh to accelerate EV adoption

The campaign focuses on climate preservation, financial independence, and social empowerment through EV adoption.

Revfin, India’s pioneering digital lending platform championing sustainable mobility, has successfully launched the ‘Jagriti Yatra Abhiyaan’ in Uttar Pradesh on June 26, 2024, at The Taj, Lucknow. Following the success of its #RevfinBharatYatra campaign, the “Zimmedari Ki Sawaari” initiative under the ‘Jagriti Yatra Abhiyaan’ aims to boost electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to achieve 100% electric vehicle usage in government departments by 2030, while also promoting financial and social empowerment and advancing towards net-zero targets. Furthermore, the campaign is integral to developing a sustainable mobility ecosystem in the state, fostering an ecosystem where electric vehicles can thrive and contribute to a greener future.

Revfin’s Founder & CEO, Sameer Aggarwal, highlighted the state’s robust investment in charging infrastructure and the burgeoning opportunities within Uttar Pradesh’s EV ecosystem during a compelling presentation at the event. A panel discussion, “RevUp Uttar Pradesh: Collaborative Strategies for Accelerating EV Adoption and Sustainable Mobility,” engaged over 30 EV dealers and industry leaders, setting the stage for collaborative growth.

Sameer Aggarwal, Founder & CEO of Revfin, articulated his ambitious vision through the campaign, stating, “Uttar Pradesh holds a pivotal role as a flagship state for Revfin, significantly contributing to our business. Revfin aims to disburse loans totaling Rs. 3000 crore across various cities in Uttar Pradesh by capturing 20% market share by 2027. With our Jagriti Yatra Abhiyaan, we seek to raise awareness and promote EV adoption throughout the state. Our primary goal is to revolutionize sustainable mobility, presenting electric vehicles as ‘Zimmedari Ki Sawaari,’ not only reducing carbon emissions but also fostering social and financial empowerment.”

Uttar Pradesh, a state leading in EV adoption in India, is implementing a comprehensive strategy focusing on three pillars: Accelerating EV adoption, Building an ecosystem with infrastructure support, and Fostering manufacturing. The ‘Jagriti Yatra Abhiyaan’ will support this strategy in high-potential cities such as Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Basti, Deoria, Bahraich, Lakhimpur, and Bareilly. Over the next two months, various marketing and customer campaigns will be run in these cities to raise awareness and position EVs as a viable option for last mile – mid mile or last mile adoption.

Revfin is significantly contributing to the development of the EV ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh by empowering women and expanding its reach. Women constitute 23% of Revfin’s customers in the state, many of whom have achieved financial independence by using e-rickshaws for commercial purposes. With a presence in 240 cities and towns, Revfin has impacted 60 lakh lives, supported by 400 points of sale and partnerships with 30 OEMs. This extensive network underscores Revfin’s commitment to fostering financial inclusion and sustainable mobility across Uttar Pradesh.

Revfin’s ambitious plans involve partnering with leading OEMs such as Bajaj Auto, Bounce Infinity, City Life, Kinetic Green, Lectrix, Saarthi, Tata Motors, Udaan, and Yatri to rapidly scale the EV market in Uttar Pradesh. To date, the company has disbursed over INR 800 crore in loans to fund more than 55,000 electric vehicles across 22 states, collaborating with over 1,500 dealerships and 50 top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
