The first teaser image of the next-generation Jeep Compass has been unveiled for global markets. Set to debut in Europe next year, the new model will later expand to other regions. The current Compass, which has been on the market for eight years and received a mid-life update, is now gearing up for a major overhaul.
The teaser hints at a bold redesign, featuring a sportier look with sharper body panels, muscular wheel arches, and pronounced shoulder lines. While the signature boxy rear and upright front fascia will remain, the 2025 Compass will sport slimmer lighting elements and a redesigned bonnet. The pillars may be shorter, though the teaser sketch doesn’t provide full clarity on this. Additionally, a large greenhouse adds to its rugged presence.
The new Compass will be built on the STLA Medium platform, shared with other Stellantis group models like the Citroen C5 Aircross. Jeep has confirmed that the third-generation Compass will offer a variety of “multi-energy propulsion systems.” It will continue to offer a 4WD system, but with enhanced technology for improved off-road capabilities. The flexible STLA Medium architecture supports internal combustion engines (ICE), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and fully electric drivetrains, fueling long-standing speculation about a Compass-based EV.
In Europe, the next-gen Compass is expected to be powered by a 1.2L mild-hybrid petrol engine producing 134 hp, working alongside a 28 hp electric motor, paired with a six-speed DCT. Engine options will vary by market. For example, in the Peugeot E-3008, a dual electric motor setup produces 316 hp, paired with a 96 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 700 km.
The 2025 Jeep Compass will be available in a wide range of configurations and will include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Production is set to begin in Stellantis’ Italian facility in 2025, with other regions following soon after.
