ThunderPlus unveils India’s first women-focused EV Charging Franchise Program

This initiative empowers women by providing a structured entry into the EV charging industry. With a ₹6 lakh investment, the franchise package includes a 30KW DC fast charger, installation, shed construction, and operational support. ThunderPlus also offers three years of free maintenance, a minimum business guarantee, and a 50% buyback option.

ThunderPlus has launched India’s first EV fast charging franchise program designed specifically for women entrepreneurs, with its inaugural station opening in Hyderabad on International Women’s Day. This initiative aims to empower women by providing a structured entry into the electric vehicle charging industry.

The franchise package requires an investment of ₹6 lakh and includes a 30KW DC fast charger for four-wheelers, complete with installation, shed construction, and operational support. ThunderPlus offers free maintenance for three years, a minimum business guarantee, and a 50% buyback option at the end of the initial term. Franchisees only need to provide the required space and power connection.

With projected revenues of approximately ₹12 lakh over three years, the program presents a lucrative opportunity for women looking to establish themselves in the growing EV sector.

The first franchise was awarded to Tarini Pandey, an MBA graduate who opted for entrepreneurship over a conventional corporate career. The charging station was inaugurated by Amrithaa Ponnam, CEO of INDCON, a leader in supporting women’s groups across Telangana.

“Women are key drivers of change, and their participation in the EV sector is essential for a truly sustainable future,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus, at the launch event. “With this initiative, we aim to break industry barriers and create a viable, high-growth business opportunity for women.”

The program aligns with broader government initiatives to increase women’s economic participation. According to recent industry reports, India’s EV charging infrastructure market is expected to grow significantly as electric vehicle adoption increases nationwide, creating new business opportunities across the ecosystem.

The franchise model addresses two growing trends in India: the expansion of EV infrastructure and the push for greater inclusion of women in entrepreneurial ventures, particularly in technology and sustainability sectors.
