Zuperia Auto enters Electric Cargo & Waste Management Vehicle Segment

Post-restructuring, Zuperia Auto now operates two brands: Youdha for mass-market institutional buyers and Lohia for premium customers. The company is scaling up production at its Kashipur plant and gearing up to launch new electric loaders and cargo vehicles under the Youdha brand.

Zuperia Auto Private Limited—formerly known as Lohia Auto Industries—has announced its entry into the electric cargo and garbage collection vehicle market. The company recently secured an order to deliver 40 electric garbage vehicles to the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation for deployment in the Bawana Industrial Area.

Following a strategic restructuring, Zuperia now operates under two distinct brands: Youdha, targeting mass-market institutional buyers, and Lohia, catering to premium customers. To support its expansion, the company is ramping up production at its Kashipur facility and preparing to introduce a new range of electric loaders and cargo vehicles under the Youdha brand.

“The real opportunity in the EV sector lies beyond personal mobility,” said Ayush Lohia, CEO of Zuperia Auto. He highlighted that tightening restrictions on diesel vehicles in urban areas, along with rising pressure on municipalities to adopt clean mobility, are pushing cargo and garbage collection vehicles into the spotlight.

India’s electric three-wheeler market saw robust growth in 2024, with sales reaching approximately 694,466 units—an 18% increase from the previous year. The cargo EV sub-segment led the surge with a remarkable 45% year-over-year growth, fueled by the rise of e-commerce and last-mile delivery demands.

Zuperia Auto has deployed electric garbage vehicles across Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, tapping into a growing cargo and utility EV market estimated at 93,000 units this fiscal, with projections surpassing 150,000 in 4–5 years.

Aligned with government EV adoption policies, Zuperia leverages lower operating costs and emissions of electric three-wheelers to target commercial use in both major cities and smaller urban hubs. The company credits its edge to in-house R&D, specialized manufacturing, and vehicle customization for institutional clients.
