Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the Mercedes-AMG G 63 ‘Offroad PRO’ in India, adding a more rugged, off-road-focused variant to the high-performance G-Class lineup. Offered in limited numbers, the new variant combines AMG performance with additional off-road hardware, distinctive styling and expedition-focused equipment.
The G 63 ‘Offroad PRO’ is equipped with AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, along with exclusive AMG Traction PRO and AMG Active Balance Control off-road modes. These systems are designed to improve traction, axle articulation and stability across challenging terrain.
The variant also features a PROFESSIONAL roof luggage rack and unique 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels finished in matte black, further reinforcing its rugged character.
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 ‘Offroad PRO’ is priced at ₹3.80 crore (ex-showroom, all India).

AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL Suspension
The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension combines active roll stabilisation with the standard AMG RIDE CONTROL system. It is calibrated to work with the vehicle’s different drive programmes, providing enhanced stability on rough terrain while allowing greater axle articulation when required.
The system is designed to help maintain wheel contact and traction over challenging surfaces while also improving ride comfort when driving over uneven roads.
AMG Active Balance Control
The AMG Active Balance Control system allows the driver to adjust the roll stiffness of the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension across three stages—LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH—depending on the terrain and driving conditions.
The system is intended to provide greater control over suspension behaviour, with additional stability during off-road driving.
AMG Traction PRO
AMG Traction PRO is designed to maximise traction in the Rock and Sand drive programmes. The system individually manages braking torque at each wheel and can help the vehicle regain traction in situations such as deep sand.
Drivers can also adjust the desired degree of locking across seven stages, allowing the system to be tailored to different off-road conditions.
PROFESSIONAL Roof Luggage Rack
The G 63 ‘Offroad PRO’ gets a PROFESSIONAL roof luggage rack designed to accommodate larger luggage and expedition equipment.
The rack features continuous aluminium panels and a removable rear ladder, providing access to the roof-mounted storage area.
20-Inch AMG Off-Road Wheels
The special variant comes with 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels finished in matte black with a diamond-turned rim flange.
The wheels are fitted with 275/50 R20 tyres.
AMG G 63 Offroad PRO: Performance
Power comes from Mercedes-AMG’s handcrafted 4.0-litre V8 biturbo petrol engine, paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
The engine produces 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, with the integrated starter-generator providing an additional 15 kW of electrical assistance.
The SUV is equipped with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Its electronically limited top speed is 240 km/h.

Iconic G-Class Design with AMG Elements
The AMG G 63 ‘Offroad PRO’ retains the unmistakable boxy silhouette of the G-Class while adding AMG-specific design elements.
These include an AMG-specific front bumper with three vertical louvers, stainless-steel inserts, the AMG crest on the bonnet and AMG-specific exterior mirror projections.
The combination of the classic G-Class shape and additional off-road equipment gives the ‘Offroad PRO’ a more rugged appearance.
Advanced MBUX Technology
Inside, the AMG G 63 features Mercedes-Benz’s latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system.
The cabin gets 12.3-inch driver and multimedia displays, touchscreen controls, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, along with USB-C ports.
The MBUX system also incorporates Augmented Reality Navigation, which overlays graphical navigation information onto live road images to assist the driver in complex traffic environments.
Dedicated Off-Road Cockpit
The redesigned off-road control interface provides access to key vehicle information through the driver and central multimedia displays.
The system can display information such as vehicle position, compass direction, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure and temperature, along with the status of the differential locks.
The Transparent Hood function can also be accessed through the off-road menu, giving the driver a view of the terrain immediately ahead of the vehicle.
Premium Interior and Comfort Features
The cabin combines the G 63’s performance-oriented character with luxury-focused equipment.
Features include Nappa leather upholstery and a customisable ambient lighting system, including illuminated air vents.
The SUV is also equipped with a Burmester 3D Surround Sound System featuring 18 speakers and a 760W output. An illuminated satellite loudspeaker integrated into the headliner further enhances the cabin ambience.
Mercedes-AMG has also incorporated additional insulation and acoustic glass to improve noise and vibration control and provide a quieter cabin experience.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The AMG G 63 comes equipped with a range of advanced driver assistance and safety technologies.
These include Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and a 360-degree camera system, along with additional ADAS functions included as part of the technology package.
Limited Availability in India
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 ‘Offroad PRO’ will be offered in limited numbers in India, adding an exclusive, off-road-focused derivative to the G-Class portfolio.
