Nissan has unveiled the all-new PIXO, a compact electric city car developed specifically for modern urban life in Europe. Combining a distinctive design with practical packaging and connected technology, the new EV is positioned as an accessible addition to Nissan’s growing electric vehicle lineup.
The PIXO offers a claimed 259 km driving range, 50 kW DC fast charging as standard, One Pedal technology and independent rear sliding seats. It also features Google built-in connectivity, including Gemini, along with Face ID technology across the range.
The new model joins Nissan’s recently introduced LEAF and MICRA EVs, expanding the automaker’s all-electric portfolio and offering European customers another option for urban mobility.
259 km Range and Fast Charging
The PIXO has been designed around the requirements of everyday city driving, with its 259 km range aimed at covering regular journeys such as school runs, shopping trips and weekend travel.
All variants come equipped with 50 kW DC rapid charging, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes. An 11 kW AC charging system is also available for convenient home and workplace charging.
The PIXO is the first Nissan model in Europe to use an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, supporting the company’s approach to making EV ownership more practical for first-time electric vehicle buyers.
Compact Exterior, Spacious Interior
Measuring 3,796 mm in length and 1,790 mm in width, the PIXO has been designed to navigate narrow streets, busy urban areas and tight parking spaces.
Despite its compact dimensions, Nissan says the vehicle can accommodate up to four adults. Independent sliding rear seats add flexibility to the cabin, allowing occupants to adjust the available passenger and cargo space according to their requirements.
The PIXO offers 18 litres of cabin storage and a 356-litre boot, including a dedicated 50-litre area for charging cables when the rear seats are in position.
Distinctive Nissan Design
The PIXO introduces a new interpretation of Nissan’s design language for compact electric vehicles. Its exterior features cube-inspired proportions, clean surfaces and a compact stance designed for urban environments.
Pixel-inspired lighting and a distinctive front-end treatment give the model a recognisable appearance. Nissan has also incorporated playful details, including hidden “23” Easter eggs—a reference to “Ni-San” in Japanese—and a robot-inspired expression on the front bumper.
The EV will be offered in a range of contemporary colours, including Wonder Purple and Gear Blue, further emphasising its youthful design character.
Masato Koyama, Lead Exterior Designer, Nissan Global Design, said: “PIXO proves that great things can come in small packages. Its compact dimensions make it a natural fit for Europe’s cities, but we’ve worked hard to maximise the space within them, creating a cabin that feels open, practical and surprisingly roomy. I can’t wait to see how our customers embrace this bold and fun new EV – that is perfectly suited to urban environments.”
Gemini and Connected Technology
Nissan has equipped the PIXO with a range of connected technologies designed to simplify everyday driving. Gemini, which Nissan describes as a first for the A-segment, provides voice-based assistance for navigation, entertainment and communication.
Available at launch in 16 languages and dialects, Gemini uses natural voice interaction and can use conversation history to provide more personalised assistance based on driver preferences.
Google built-in provides navigation, route planning and connectivity, while the MyNissan app and connected services allow owners to manage charging and selected vehicle functions.
The PIXO also introduces Face ID, which can recognise the driver and automatically load personalised settings.
The technology suite is displayed through a 7-inch driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, providing access to navigation, music and Gemini functions.
Designed for Urban Agility
The PIXO’s compact dimensions and 9.9-metre turning circle are intended to make it easier to manoeuvre through tight city streets.
Its electric drivetrain delivers a maximum power output of 60 kW, providing instant response and acceleration.
Nissan has also equipped the model with a range of driver assistance technologies as standard, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, Lane Departure Warning and Hands-Free Parking.
One Pedal technology is also included, allowing drivers to accelerate, decelerate and bring the vehicle to a stop using the accelerator pedal, a feature designed particularly for congested urban traffic.
Clíodhna Lyons, Vice President, Product, Brand & Marketing Strategy, Nissan AMIEO, said: “We believe the future of electric mobility isn’t about building bigger vehicles with more technology, it’s about building smarter vehicles that fit naturally into people’s lives. PIXO has been designed specifically for Europe and specifically for our cities, delivering everything customers need from an EV, without unnecessary complexity.”
She added: “As fuel costs continue to rise, our focus remains simple: giving customers practical alternatives that help reduce the cost of every journey. Whether through our rapidly expanding EV line-up or our highly efficient e-POWER Hybrid technology, Nissan is delivering electrified solutions that lower running costs without compromising convenience.”
Nissan’s Vision in Action
The development of the PIXO forms part of Nissan’s broader approach to bringing new electric vehicles to market through collaboration with established manufacturing partners.
Designed by Nissan and manufactured by its long-standing partner Renault, the PIXO has been engineered specifically for European customers. Production will take place at Renault’s Novo Mesto facility in Slovenia.
Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027, with pricing, market-specific specifications and pre-order details expected to be announced from December 2026 onwards.
